Spanish
Over 400,000,000 people spread over 21 countries in the world speak Spanish as a native tongue. It is one of the official languages in the European Union and it is widely spoken in the United States of America, being there the most spoken language after English.
At Open Gate Spanish is taught with a communicative approach. The children are exposed to everyday situations in which they have to use the language structures to achieve tasks. In the Spanish courses there is also an honest effort to expose the students to Spanish and Latin American customs and traditions so they can have a better understanding of different cultures from an early age.
We prepare the students so they can get international certification for their language skills. Our students take the DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) at Instituto Cervantes de Praga every year. The DELE exams are issued by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry for Education and Science and they are official qualifications accrediting levels of competence in the Spanish language (www.diplomas.cervantes.es).
At the end of their studies they can also get Spanish Maturita and some students may get the chance to take Spanish as a third language in their A-Levels.
