The humanity of the Czech society has gone through a notable influence during the recent history. We cannot, however, straightforwardly claim that the Czech’s humanity has become better or worse. To narrow-mindedly assert that the Czech society has become less human is thus out of question.

September 2036. Six men were sitting in a bomb shelter, all lights turned off with the bombers flying high above their heads. The base was small enough to be considered a private airport, but they never knew.

This famous quotation explains how Serbian people behave, but who knows it? Are Serbs known just for eating ajvar and pita while drinking sljivovica and arguing about politics? Or are they that nation which killed so many people during The Balkan Wars? Many people imagine extremists and an unfriendly nation while others smile and say “oh, good friends, good friends”. The truth lies somewhere in the middle.

We are learning about the fluid mosaic model of the cell membrane in IB Biology at Open Gate. To cement our knowledge of the structure, we made 3-D models of the membrane with plasticine and wood skewers.

Our first destination was Šabina, a little village where we collected our food, life jackets, canoes and paddles and stuffed our belongings into barrels, so that we were ready for the first embarkation.
