Let’s take a look...

Class 1

In art class this week, the students made wonderful cats using different colored triangles. They practiced their tracing, cutting and coloring skills to create these nice pieces of art. They are already hanging outside the classroom for all to see and admire. (ED)

Class 2

Last week, we started talking about environmental issues that directly affect our planet and people’s lives around the world. With the kids, Jana discussed the measures that should be taken in order to save the planet before it is too late.

Due to the great importance attached to this issue, yesterday, we decided to do an art project about saving the water, where using watercolors the children did several beautiful paintings of the blue and clean ocean.

In PE this week, class 2 started learning some basic skills associated with soft ball (baseball). We practised throwing and catching the ball and different throwing techniques. We also started learning how to hit the ball with the softball bat. (LR)

Class 3

This week in Class 3 the students learned about the Wonders of Water, namely the Grand Canyon, which was carved out over millions of years by the powerful Colorado River. In honor of this, we made watercolor paintings of the Grand Canyon. The students will put the finishing touches on their artwork next week before displaying them for all the students to see. (ED)

Class 4

In class 4 this week, we started learning about probability and understanding statistically how things can happen, and also how sometimes things don’t follow the balance of probability or statistical expectations. It sounds complicated but it was a lot of fun! We also discussed what we enjoyed learning about and what we thought about the moon landings. We also started learning some improv comedy games which is a great way to practise English, be creative and have fun! (LR)

Class 5

In class 5 this week, like class 4, we started learning about probability and statistics and discussing the idea of reading people and understanding how people think. (LR)

Class 5 learnt about how newspaper articles are structured and put together. For next week, they will each create their own article based on a picture and headline which no doubt, will be very creative and enjoyable to read! (ED)
