Let’s take a look at ...

Class1

This week worked very hard in their Incredible English books. They are working on Abilities, i.e I can run/jump/climb/walk/sit/dance/sing. We played some speaking games and sang a song related to the abilities. The kids are learning so much, so fast! (ED)

Class 2

In Class 2, we have been learning about toys. We have discussed our favourites and next week, the children will each bring a toy to school for a Show and Tell. I can't wait to see the various interesting toys they will bring! (JU)

Class 3

This week we started our Open Gate Voyager 2019 project. The kids are creating posters to depict a Voyager time capsule that they will send to space for any intelligent life form to find and learn about life on Earth. The kids made some great rough drafts of the poster and will finalize their posters this coming week. (ED)

Class 4

In class 4 this week, we continued learning improv comedy in preparation for what will be a very funny show in the spring time! We also started learning about the Cold War, in particular, the Berlin Airlift in the late 1940s. We will learn more about it in the coming weeks. (LR)

In Class 4, we have been talking about various famous tall buildings all around the world. This week, we started an art project, where we used a grid to make pictures of some of the world's most famous towers. To do that, the children had to use English (to understand instructions), their math skills and geometry (to use the grid) and finally their art skills to create some impressive pictures. You will be able to see them displayed next week, as soon as we finish the details! (JU)

Class 5

In class 5 this week, we had 2 presidential debates where the 6 candidates had the opportunity to tell the voters what they would do if elected class president. The voters had the opportunity to put questions to the candidates too and they were certainly put under a lot of scrutiny to justify being president, but it was also very funny.

We also made some campaign posters. We focused on the general style poster, the informative poster and the dirty tricks (attack your opponent) style poster. There are pics of a few of them on the website and you are very welcome to come to the classroom to see the rest! (LR)
