Předprázdninový páteční pozdrav ze ZŠ
Dear Parents,
I hope you have all had a nice week. The autumn break is upon us and after a couple of great months back at Open Gate for this school year, I am sure all the students and staff will enjoy a few days to relax and recharge the batteries.
This week was a lot of fun in Open Gate, in particular because of Halloween Day! In the morning we all gathered in the foyer to admire, and maybe sometimes recoil in horror and the many weird and wonderful costumes that we on show.
In the morning we did some fantastic activities including Halloween art with Monika and Jana, bobbing and dunking for apples with Felizardo and cops and robbers with me. We were certainly hungry by lunchtime!
After lunch, we divided into our afternoon groups. Some of the students spent the afternoon playing rugby with our very good friends from Babice Rugby. There were two movie clubs, one for the younger and one for the older students where they watched Coco, and the Princess Bride respectively. Petra and I took the last group for a walk in the forest and on such a fresh autumn day, it was very enjoyable and some lucky students also found some tasty treats along the way after completely some fiendish puzzles!
Se skupinkou odvážných jsme se vypravili do babického lesíka hledat ukrytá vajíčka. Každé obnášelo jednu logickou úlohu. Nádherný les kolem nás, plno listí , barev, podzimní sluníčko,… a přemýšlení!
All in all, it was a terrific day and a nice way to close out the autumn term.
Věříme, že si užijete proměnlivé podzimní počasí tak, jak jsme si jej užívali my v tomto týdnu ve škole. Zvláště pak během čtvrtečního odpoledne, kdy část dětí vyrazila na dobrodružnou procházku do lesa, druhá skupina trénovala a hrála ragby, třetí zhlédla jeden z dvojice lehce strašidelných filmů spojených s Halloweenem.
Ani o prázdninách nezůstane škola zcela bez dětí. V pátek 1. listopadu hostíme krajské kolo Logické olympiády. Zavítá k nám celkem 150 nejúspěšnějších řešitelů z našeho kraje, rozdělených dle věku do tří kategorií. Jsme rádi, že mezi nimi nebudou chybět ani zástupci Open Gate, konkrétně v kategorii A je to náš páťák Tomáš. Velmi pěkných výsledků v základním kole však dosáhli i další, například Rozálka či Kuba.
I hope you all enjoy the break wherever you may be and we look forward to seeing everyone together in early November, and then we start the countdown to Christmas!
