Kateřina Kožnarová will head the school from 1 July 2017

Having spent 11 years with Open Gate, its principal, Peter Nitsche, has decided to end his professional career and retire. Effective from 1 July 2017, Kateřina Kožnarová, currently head of the sciences section at the grammar school and a biology and social sciences teacher, will become the new principal of the school.

Under Peter Nitsche’s leadership, Open Gate has evolved into a highly respected private school. A large number of children, exceeding the school’s capacity, apply for enrolment at the Open Gate grammar school and elementary school every year. The school also pursues its primary mission: it provides educational opportunities to academically gifted and hard-working students from all social backgrounds.

Effective from 1 July 2017, Kateřina Kožnarová, currently head of the sciences section at the grammar school and a biology and social sciences teacher, will become the new principal of the school. Mrs Kožnarová knows Open Gate very well thanks to her 10 years spent at this school. She has also been contributing to the development of the school as an advisor for the school curriculum and the professional development of its teaching staff. She graduated from Charles University’s Faculty of Education, and she is also a certified biology examiner for International Baccalaureate.
