At Open Gate we don’t place limits on what secondary school students should know. Together we discuss topics that you won’t find in most school curricula. Students are faced with demanding academic challenges. We enable them to use state-of-the-art technology. We grow with them and regularly adjust our curriculum. We guide the students towards independence and responsibility for the topics and the way they learn.
We plan education at Open Gate in a manner that allows the students to actively participate. With us, they are given room to discover, research, experiment and push the limits of their knowledge. You won’t find students mindlessly copying information off a board here. We create an environment that allows students to explore learning as much as possible.
We use our own system of study managed by the students, known as Student-Organised Learning or SOL for short. The students not only choose the manner in which they study something but they also have the opportunity to evaluate their decisions and if necessary, adjust them. We know that in our world full of changes they will have to learn throughout their life. We try to prepare them for life as best we can. To us, this is one of the most important things we can do for them.
