Information on Processing of Personal Data

OPEN GATE Secondary and Primary School /OPEN GATE – gymnázium a základní škola, s. r. o., with its registered office at the address Na Návsi 5, 251 01 Babice, Czech Republic, listed in the Commercial Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague, File Number: C 95491 (hereinafter referred to as ‘the School’), as a personal data controller, processes data on its employees and pupils, the legal guardians of its pupils, and other persons who come into contact with the School in relation to the fulfilment of the School’s activities.

The School obtains personal data directly from the data subjects, or in certain cases, data is created during the course of the School’s activities (e.g. evaluations or pupils’ attendance records). The School processes the acquired personal data in order to meet legal requirements in accordance with Act No 561/2004 Coll., the Education Act, and related legislation, as well as to fulfil tasks in the public interest in accordance with Article 6(1)(e) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing and free movement of personal data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Regulation’). The School may only use the provided personal data for the purposes of keeping school documentation, organising curricular and extracurricular events, and for other purposes related to the ordinary running of the School. To the extent stipulated by law, the School shall transmit personal data to state authorities or other authorised persons (e.g. data on the progress of education of pupils in accordance with Decree No 364/2005 Coll., on managing documentation of schools and educational facilities, on school registers, and on transmitting data from documentation of schools and educational facilities, and information on/from accident records pursuant to Decree No 64/2005 Coll., on records of injuries of children, students, etc.).

Personal data processed by the School with the requirement of consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) of the Regulation, is data with a defined, precise processing purpose to which its subject has given their consent. Such consent is a free, specific, and unambiguous manifestation of the will with which the data subjects provide a declaration or other clear confirmation of their consent to the processing of the personal data they have specified. Prior to granting their consent, data subjects are always informed of their right to withdraw this consent at any time.

The website (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Website’) is operated by the School and may contain links to other websites run by affiliated companies, such as The Kellner Family Foundation.

If you are visiting the Website for the first time or if it is necessary for the use of certain services, we may ask you to register and to provide us with some of your personal data, including your name, address, phone and fax numbers, email address(es), and other information, making it possible to identify and contact you.

Based on the legitimate interests of the administrator, after you have completed your studies the School may send you an email containing a questionnaire about your satisfaction with the quality of the School's education and a request for additional information regarding the further studies of our graduates for the needs of the School's graduate club. If you do not wish to receive such emails, please contact the School at the email address provided below with a request to delete your email address(es) from its database.

You can contact the School by the means above to exercise your right of access to your personal data, your right to the rectification or erasure of data, your right to the restriction of processing, your right to object to processing, and your right to the portability of your personal data, as well as any other rights under the Regulation. The School will reply to a data subject’s requests in writing by way of a registered letter sent to the data subject’s address. In the case of repeated requests by a single data subject, the data subject shall be charged CZK 50 for each repeated request.
