Acceptance Procedure to Grammar School
We are an eight-year grammar school, so children from the fifth grade of primary schools take the entrance exams for the Prima class. Students can also transfer to the upper years of the grammar school, but only if there is a vacancy in the class.
Basic informations about the acceptance procedure to the Open Gate eight-year grammar school for the school year 2024/2025
The admissions procedure consists of three parts, each with a different weight:
- results of state Czech language test – 30 %
- results of state mathematics test – 30 %
- results of spoken interview – 40 %
The state exams are prepared by the Cermat agency. You can get an idea of what to expect from these sections from the practice tests published on the agency’s website.
An application form can be downloaded from the website of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. You can find it under the heading Print a Secondary Education Application Form. Please fill in the form and send it to Open Gate, for the attention of Jana Hojerová (Schramlová) by 20th February 2024. Jana will also be happy to answer any other questions you may have regarding the school’s acceptance procedure.
It is now also possible to apply to study at Open Gate Grammar School electronically via the information system on the admission procedure, which also includes a digital application system (DIPSY) - you can enter the system here.
An application form or extract from DIPSY can be submitted to the school via the data box (ID: abvrh5r).
We also offer grammar school students a generous scholarship programme from The Kellner Family Foundation. It offers a social scholarship which has been granted to 384 grammar school students since the school was founded. You can find an application form and further information at the following link www.kellnerfoundation.cz/opengate.
