Suggestions for the Grammar School Management

ManageBac and School OnLine
ManageBac is an online platform used in the International Baccalaureate programme to share documents and organise teaching. Students and parents can access assessment overviews, unit plans, assignments, and day-to-day school activities.

School OnLine is our second online system, used for the Primary School and for Years 1–6 of the grammar school.

School Uniform
Open Gate is one of the few Czech schools where students wear a school uniform. Our students are easy to recognise—whether they are on campus or attending a school event. To order the uniform, please use our online shop.
Reporting Absences for Grammar School Students
Boarding Students:
Report absences by email to: absentstudents@opengate.cz
Please include the following information in your email:
In the subject line:
- Class
In the body of the email:
- Full name of the student you are reporting absent
- Reason for the student’s absence (provide a specific reason)
- Dates of absence (if the student will not be absent for the full day, include the time of departure or return)
Day Students:
Report absences through the School OnLine app.
Always report a student’s absence in advance (when possible).
For absences lasting four days or more for reasons other than health, you must request the student’s release from lessons at least one week in advance using the form Request for Student Release from Classes (also available in Word format here).
Tuition and Scholarships
Open Gate is a private school, which means tuition is essential. In the 2025/2026 school year, the annual tuition fee for students who commute daily, known as “day students”, is 282,000 CZK.
Thanks to The Kellner Family Foundation, we are able to offer both need-based and academic scholarships to grammar school students. Since the school was founded in 2005, 435 students have received a need-based scholarship.

School Board
At Open Gate, the School Board is not merely a formal body fulfilling the requirements of the Education Act. Together with parents, representatives of the school and its founder discuss current developments, share ideas for the school’s growth, and comment on or approve key documents essential to its operation. Here you can read the minutes from the School Board meetings.
The parent representatives on the School Board are Ing. Pavla Šaterová and JUDr. Peter Andris.
