News from grammar school

Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, Graduates, and Friends of Open Gate.

Yesterday spring officially began and it introduced itself in a very good light. Spring sun rays, light blue sky; altogether a beautiful day.

And because the weather tempts you out into the city or into the countryside, I will not weary your eyes staring at the computer or mobile screen and we’ll make it brief today.

Monday's assembly introduced us again to an interesting guest, this time the American Embassy Cultural Attaché, Mr. Eric Black, along with internship trainee from Seattle, Miss Sarah. The topic was study, the career of a diplomat and the anniversary of the Czech Republic in NATO. After the assembly itself, there was still room to explore OG and discuss other possible forms of cooperation. Thank you for visiting.

After the psychology project for Kvinta students, this week an Economics project for Sexta was held. Thanks to all colleagues involved and also thanks for the help from the IB Economics students from Septima.

There were also, of course, several times that we competed in knowledge and its application:

Tuesday’s Mathematics Competition, the History Competition, and Matematický Klokan today.

Kvinta students are in the Alps for the week and we look forward to their return today. Contrarily, selected Septima students are already slowly packing for a long journey to India.

But before they leave, there is another busy week in front of us. We will have another assembly, an Astronomical Competition, a trip to the zoo, a Parents’ Café on Tuesday on the subject of study after OG and especially on Thursday, right at the end of the ball season, Oktáva 2019’s graduation ball.

Await another Friday report at the end of next week and until then, stay in touch on FB, Instagram and our website.

And don’t forget to train for Run and Help.

Until next time,
