Prior to following her heart and training as a teacher after the birth of her daughter, Susan worked in various environments, from personnel to being self-employed.

Education

1996-2001 | University of Stirling (Scotland), B.A. (Honours) English, Education, and Religious Studies; DipEd

Experience

Susan taught in state schools in Scotland until 2004 when she moved with her husband and daughter to Catalunya and taught English as a foreign language. In 2010, she moved to Valencia for 7 years where she taught IGCSE and IB. In Valencia, she underwent IB training and was an accredited IGCSE Literature and First Language examiner. Looking to expand her knowledge and experience, she moved to Murcia in 2017 to take up a senior post and teach A Level. Susan is very much looking forward to teaching at Open Gate and returning to the IB philosophy.

Hobbies

Susan enjoys trying local cuisine, often using restaurant reviews as a basis for deciding which location to visit. She also enjoys travelling, walking in the countryside and reading. Susan is looking forward to exploring the Czech Republic and taking advantage of its position in the centre of Europe to travel further afield.
