IB DP Economics / Business Management Teacher

The eight-year Open Gate Grammar school  located just outside Prague is looking for a full time IB Economics + Business Management teacher to start on August 24, 2026. The successful candidate will inspire students to achieve their potential while fostering critical thinking, global awareness, and a passion for the economics.

Founded in 2005, the school is a unique project for gifted students from all walks of life, including those from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach IB DP Economics and Business Management (HL and SL)
  • Prepare engaging, differentiated lesson plans aligned with IB standards
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and internal assessments (IAs)
  • Support students in Extended Essays (where applicable) and CAS
  • Participate in school events, parent meetings, and extracurricular activities
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture

 

Requirements:

  • A relevant university degree (Economics, Business, or related field)
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, M.Ed., etc.)
  • Experience teaching IB DP Economics and/or Business Management
  • Strong understanding of IB philosophy and assessment criteria
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • High level of English proficiency (native or near-native)

 

Desirable:

  • IB training certificates (Category 1 or 2)
  • Experience teaching in an international or bilingual school environment
  • Familiarity with digital learning tools (e.g., ManageBac, MS Teams)
