It is our aim at Open Gate School to provide all the conditions for our students to graduate and leave the school as well-rounded young people who are ready to face life with not only their intellectual but also their social and emotional sides fully developed.
This mission is also fulfilled by a wide range of extracurricular activities available for our students at the school premisses.
The school campus is modern and richly equipped. There is the theatre hall, the ceramics, textile, wood and metal workshops, art studio, the school farm with horses, goats and sheep, mini ZOO with exotic fauna and flora, indoor swimming pool, music and recording studio, outdoor and indoor sport facilities.
Through extracurricular activities, whether they are physical, cultural or social, the students can wholly develop their personalities. No matter what talent each student has, be it creative (e.g. a gift for ceramics, music or perhaps cooking) or sport oriented (such as the predisposition for swimming, floorball or horse-riding), he or she can use it and develop at Open Gate.
The extracurricular activities offered to our students are systematically organised into a comprehensive programme that meets the demands of "The Duke of Edinburgh‘s Award" (DofE). It is the students themselves who decide how to organise their free time. In this way they participate in the extracurricular programme. The older ones can even become managers of the particular activities.
