Great success of a student of the Open Gate Gymnasium in the Open Science programme of the Academy of Sciences
Every year, the Academy of Sciences offers long-term internships to Czech high school students in the Open Science programme. The interest in these internships is huge. Last year alone, 1,657 students from all over the Czech Republic applied and only 223 were selected.
Kateřina Švejdová from our Octave not only managed to get selected for the internship „How cancer cells communicate with the body“, but even came first in the final presentations.
Kačka presented the results of her internship together with her friend Amálie Hrbková (a former student of Open Gate Gymnasium, now Nový PORG) during the Student Science Conference in the block dedicated to natural and chemical sciences. Thanks to a great presentation and answering all the technical questions, the joint work of Kačka and Amálka won the 1st place in a competition of forty presentations.
Congratulations to Kačka for her outstanding success and thank you for the excellent representation of the school.
