From the very beginning, Open Gate students have achieved excellent results both individually and when averaged. What’s more, they reached an overall average of 40 points! Six of our students received 40 points or more, with the best of them receiving an amazing 43 points!

Having spent 11 years with Open Gate, its principal, Peter Nitsche, has decided to end his professional career and retire. Effective from 1 July 2017, Kateřina Kožnarová, currently head of the sciences section at the grammar school and a biology and social sciences teacher, will become the new principal of the school.

The mock tests, which will be taken in Prostějov, Ostrava and Zlín, allow children to try out the procedure for admission to this grammar school. Half the pupils are studying here thanks to grants. If the children pass the tests, they will only face an interview during the conventional admission procedure.

This year, more than 135,000 students in 141 countries took their International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations. While the global average score for diploma students was 29.81 points, Open Gate graduates achieved an average score of 35.7 points. The maximum possible score is 45 points.

In this year’s session, the global average score for diploma students in this challenging examination was 29.81 points, while the maximum possible score was 45 points. Open Gate graduates achieved an average score of 37.2 points, which placed the school among the best secondary schools globally.
